  1. tydligen är det klaninblandning….

reseråd till dig som ska åka till Somalia: Från Kanada – usa – england och australiens utrikesdepartement……Klippt och klistrat !

Do not travel to Somalia due to crime, terrorism, civil unrest, health issues, kidnapping, and piracy.

Violent crime, such as kidnapping and murder, is common throughout Somalia, including Puntland and Somaliland. Illegal roadblocks are also widespread.

There is serious risk from terrorism in Mogadishu. The security situation in Somalia remains unstable and dangerous. Terrorist operatives and armed groups in Somalia continue to attack Somali authorities, forces associated with the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), and non-military targets. Kidnapping, bombings, murder, illegal roadblocks, banditry, use of indirect fire, and other violent incidents to foreign nationals can occur in any region of Somalia.

There is a threat of kidnapping throughout Somalia, including in regions bordering Kenya and Ethiopia, and in Somaliland. Both terrorists and criminal groups, including piracy groups, are involved in hostage-taking. A number of western nationals, including British nationals, have been kidnapped in Somalia over the last 10 years and some have been killed. Those engaged in humanitarian aid work, journalism or business sectors are viewed as legitimate targets

The rule of law is virtually non-existent. Violent demonstrations, suicide bombings, attacks and military activity occur regularly. The current situation represents a very serious threat to travellers. Be aware that anti-Western sentiment may at times be strong. Foreign travellers, including journalists, human rights activists and humanitarian workers, are at very high risk of kidnapping, murder and arrest without notice or apparent cause.

There are high levels of crime conducted by armed militias throughout the country. Armed robberies, carjackings and murders occur regularly.

Forced marriage affecting foreigners occur. It sometimes occurs without the affected person’s prior knowledge or consent. Parents, relatives and the community may use relentless pressure and emotional blackmail, threatening behaviour, abduction, imprisonment and physical violence to coerce young people to enter into marriage. While both men and women experience forced marriage, it is a form of violence most commonly perpetrated against women and girls.

Somalia has no effective police force. Law and order has broken down. Drought, food shortages and military attacks have compounded the unstable security situation. Arrange personal security measures and seek professional advice.

Lawlessness, clan violence and looting are common. Anti-Western attitudes are strong in some parts of Somalia. Foreigners are sometimes violently harassed. This includes people of Somali descent.

If you’re in Somalia despite our advice:

always travel with your vehicle’s doors locked and windows up
lock the doors and windows of your accommodation
    be alert at all times
HIV/AIDS is widespread. If you’re a victim of violent crime, including rape, see a doctor as soon as possible.

If, despite our advice, you decide to stay:

    get professional security advice
    arrange personal security measures
plan for uncertainty and stock up on essential items (water, food, toiletries, fuel and prescription medication)
limit your movements, especially around days of national significance and religious festivals
    be alert at all times
    have a clear exit plan

Many foreigners, including those of Somali descent, have been kidnapped in Somalia. Armed groups in Somalia have held Westerners kidnapped from Kenya.

Courts operate under both Somali and sharia law. Same-sex relations are illegal in Somalia. Punishments under strict sharia law include flogging or death. It’s also illegal to preach a religion other than Islam in Puntland or Somaliland.
